Peter Granser
What was your first shot ?
A weird, kind of greek style statue I found in Kobe, Japan. I even chose it for the exhibition, because I like the surreal feeling of this photo.
How did your work, idea evolve ?
Like all my work (ideas) evolves: by observing the world around me.
Are you happy with the result ?
Yes, otherwise I wouldn´t show it. It wasn´t easy to shoot with the material and I was soemtimes frustrated, but when I had a good result, I forgot about the trouble.
What's next ?
I would like to work with this « Impossible Project » instant film a lot, so I am thinking about photographing a whole project with it.

They make us dream or shiver
Peter Granser is Austrian, born in Hannover in 1971. He lives now in Stuttgart (Germany).
His work is carrier of a cold aesthetics contained in daylife subjects shown without taboo.
This appreciably marks the stylistic identity of this very photographer. His study especially concerns the modern myths, should they make us dream or shiver (Coney Island, Elvis Presley, or the Alzheimer's disease) to whom he grants a cold but yet attentive and without concession glance.
Peter Granser was first discovered by the public during the "Rencontre d'Arles 2002" (France) where he was awarded the "Prix Découverte". Since then, he has been awarded the "World Press" and the Leica's Oskar Barnak Award.
