What was your first shot ?
My first shot was of my husband on a white background using the polaroid format as a box enclosing him. i was seeking vivid colours and good contrast. Not getting these results, i opted for another idea.
How did your work, idea evolve ?
My idea changed numerous times as I tried to find a result that could work with the PX film.
Are you happy with the result ?
I am not very satisfied with the result because I find the quality of the Px film mediocre. As a result I had to find an idea that was more conceptual instead of an idea that demonstrated a or numerous beautiful images.
It was a very frustrating and annoying experience where I felt cheated... great packaging and marketing but no substance.
What's next ?
Coco Amardeil was born in Toronto and she grew up between London, Sao Paulo and Montreal.
Working in Paris as a photographer, she now sets up objects as colorful as her life is.
What she imagines is nothing but her own world. Fashion, decoration, contemporary art are some of her favorite subjects, but whatever she does, she always plays with the characters' spontaneousness, in unexpected settings and a very feminine atmosphere.
This highly distinctive feature calls every attention during her exhibitions in Paris, in trendy places like the "Batofar" (2001) as well as museums like the "Musée des Egoûts" (2003) or the Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery (2002).
Knowing that, it seemed perfectly natural to well known french magazines (ELLE, Madame Figaro, Rolling Stone, Biba...) and brands (Nokia, Perrier, France Telecom, Casio, Neslé) to call her.
